Samsung release the ICS-inspired update to the Galaxy S

Samsung has begun the rollout of a further update to the almost two years old Galaxy S. It is certainly not an Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, but a partially ICS-inspired one.

Update based on Android 2.3.6/Gingerbread include among others facial unlocking function from the last androidversionen beyond performance and camera enhancements and a more polished UI.

The Galaxy S features introduced with the update (Value Pack Update) reads:

Just a few days ago Google Ice Cream Sandwich present but has not forgotten their applications; in yesterday launched a new version of Google Maps for Android (Google Maps 5.11).

Samsung sells 3 million Galaxy S-II devices in advance

Samsung worldwide via preorder now 3 million units of its new flagship Galaxy S II sold. The device is already available, among others, the United Kingdom and Korea and will soon be available in the Netherlands.

The above preorders would relate to telecom equipment providers who have ordered from the Korean manufacturer. This seems the Galaxy S II towards sales which are not inferior to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy S. Of Samsung has sold about 10 million.
